It was very easy to use from the start. Didn't have to read the instructions. It was easy to connect, choose the right massage head, press the power button and use. I was able to use it myself for my lower back although my husband would have benefited from holding it. The volume is pretty loud for a massage gun and gets louder as you dial in higher speeds. Engine size is not a deal breaker and doesn't matter. I listened to TV well and my baby continued to sleep. I quickly found that I prefer a flat nozzle to a round one because a round one is more of a porous type of material than a smooth one. When using the massager over a shirt, the porous nozzle would tangle where the flat one had not. When applied directly to the skin, the porous nozzle rubbed the back uncomfortably. I would have preferred a softer round lure and might be able to find one to buy. Overall, the value and ease of use are amazing. I am very happy with it and my back stopped hurting within minutes of using it. In the words of Michael Gary Scott, "My God, my mind moves at a mile an hour."
