It just might be better than sliced bread!

This is one of the best products I have purchased. Being able to see what's playing on my DVR, including live TV, anywhere I have an internet connection is almost better than sliced bread. Connecting the Slingbox to the TV and my home network was easy. The initial setup of Slingbox was easy too: go to the company's website and click View, select my location and create an account. I love that Sling doesn't ask for a lot of personal information, just an email address and password to set up an account. You don't need to buy a mobile app. The Sling Player web browser plugin is free. I chose not to pay $15 for the mobile app and am using a laptop. The installation process was easy, but it took a long time for the website to respond and install the Sling Player web browser plugin. The initial setup took about 30 minutes, but most of the time I was waiting for the website to respond. Now that Slingbox is set up, to watch my DVR's content, including live programs, I go to sling.com, press Watch, choose a location, log into my account using my web browser, and click on the M1 promotions page to start my slingbox thread. This process is pretty quick. I've read reviews about how terrible the UI is, but I think it's great; For navigation I use a screenshot of the DVR remote control. The video quality is very good when streaming 4 to 5 MB. It is important. Be sure to place the IR emitter in front of or near the DVR and connect it to the back of the Slingbox so that the Slingbox can control my DVR. A note about using the on-screen remote: after pressing the button on the on-screen remote to change channels or adjust the volume, etc., so that the result is displayed in the sling player. The latency is a little annoying, but not bad, and it's probably because the signal has to travel from my computer to the Sling servers and then back to my network. To me, that's a small price to pay for the flexibility to view my DVR almost anywhere. Overall, this is a great addition to my TV! There is a one to two second delay after pressing a button on the on-screen remote to change channels or adjust volume etc. before the result is reflected in the Sling player.
