I have used many different types of gloves over the years, tried dozens of pairs, maybe over a hundred. I cut 10 bundles of firewood every year and the gloves I buy have to withstand the abuse of firewood. Everything up to that point was a failure - double palm pigskin, cheap brown cloth gloves, ridiculously expensive anti-vibration mechanic's gloves and everything else along those lines. I've been buying anything that says "Masonry" above them for a while now, knowing how demanding that is for gloves. The best I could get was a season before they got punctured, seams ripped, or they were so affected by wear and tear, moisture, fuel/oil and other contaminants that they just fell apart. The Showa Atlas 300 gloves have been recommended online by some professional landscapers and arborists, as well as other people like me who do a lot of wood cutting. I bought a pair and thought I'd try them and see how they hold up. A year has passed and I am still using the same pair of gloves, there is no visible wear and tear on the latex/rubber coated part of the glove, the only problem is that after a few days the rubber starts to separate from the cloth glove. I decided they were so good I bought a full dozen - for less than $3 a pair, what's the risk? Now I have a second pair but I still use the old ones for really dirty and nasty things. It will be 20 years before I use it all. I recommend them to anyone looking for gloves and buy them for my work crew (I run a maintenance department of 40 people). They are very comfortable, fit my hands well, work great in winter and summer as the back of the hand can breathe (there is an insulated winter version but I haven't tried them) and most importantly they are the most durable gloves I have. . ever used. I can even handle wet or oily things that would ruin a leather glove, but you don't even see it with these.
