Really sad story about these great sounding speakers. As noted by several other reviewers here, I had issues with the brittle, crumbling plastic material surrounding these ceiling speakers! I needed to replace 4 speakers that were on the ceiling of a covered outdoor patio. I live in hot Arizona so I was willing to blame the heat a bit, but still I've never seen that with other speakers. These Pyle speakers literally fell out of the ceiling (3 out of 4)! What really annoys me is that the first symptom of this problem is usually the grille falling out of the speaker. It happened to the ceiling of our dining room this weekend. When the grille was reattached, the speaker's entire plastic assembly crumbled and the speaker nearly fell to the floor. Luckily I noticed! This is unacceptable and renders these speakers useless and dangerous when mounted on the ceiling. I will no longer buy these as a replacement. I hope Pyle will respond to my dissatisfaction with their product. I do not recommend anyone to buy them, especially if they plan to install them on the ceiling. Please see my attached photos.
