Dangerous poor quality plastic case

Listen to other negative reviews. We have had 8 of these installed indoors for about 5 years. I noticed one was hacked but just ignored it. Then it fell from the ceiling and spread all over the floor. I thought it was an accident and ordered a replacement. After replacing the broken one, I started looking at others and it turned out they all had the same problem. Plastic basically takes on the consistency of chalk and only crumbles with a little pressure. I will replace them all before another…

Dangerous! The plastic assembly will crumble and the speaker may fall out of the ceiling!

Really sad story about these great sounding speakers. As noted by several other reviewers here, I had issues with the brittle, crumbling plastic material surrounding these ceiling speakers! I needed to replace 4 speakers that were on the ceiling of a covered outdoor patio. I live in hot Arizona so I was willing to blame the heat a bit, but still I've never seen that with other speakers. Surprised they sound as good as they are - Great price - Here are some tips - Grill Solutions

I installed these speakers yesterday. Use the metal clip provided with the speakers to remove the grilles - lift one side halfway, then lift the opposite side of the grille and they come off easily. REALLY EASY. To attach the grilles, carefully line them up with the installed speaker and one side should fit in very easily, but only about halfway.
