Not the fanciest shoe but that's not why I bought it. I bought these to use as boat/water shoes. When we went down the river I wore thin soled water shoes with mesh uppers - they actually work much better. The soles are thick and durable and protect my feet from rocks much better. I feel a lot more stable walking in it. Vents allow water and river mud to drain easily and unlike mesh boots, nothing sticks to them. They are easy to wash and dry instantly. And although they are a bit large (I wear a 9.5, ordered a 9, still too big for me) they fit the leg very well even in the flowing water of the river. All in all a great purchase.
