For years we've hoped that the RPi's native DSI display port would be of some use. That's almost all. Unfortunately, this still requires the use of two GPIO pins. The resolution is very low for a 7 inch screen. In fact, one can easily buy a generic touchscreen (that doesn't use a DSI connector) at a comparable price. In fact, for the same money you can get a regular Android tablet with a higher screen resolution Two small issues that would be so easy to fix that it defies logic that they weren't solved: 1) The display came with ABSOLUTELY NO INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS . Of course, some geeks may be enough to know how to wire the ribbon blindfolded. But a simple one-page guide with diagrams would be more valuable than the included "safety manual" printed in small print. 2 ) The board and its connectors are oriented so that all ports are powered from the bottom. This is a device factor and NOT an additional case you are purchasing. Therefore, the first thing users should do is search the web for the code they should add to the configuration file to flip the display. Well, either that or find some cables with square plugs!
