This small alarm is big. If you're within earshot of your bike, you'll know if someone is messing with it. It's not annoying like some overly sensitive car alarms. It has sensitivity settings, but the default settings work well. The instructions are a bit confusing. I think the people who wrote them don't speak English very well. They wish the people who make these things could do better in that regard. But other than that, the setup is pretty self-explanatory. I attached my alarm to the inside of the windshield with Velcro so I could remove the alarm unit and place it somewhere else if I wanted to. One improvement I would suggest is running it without a remote just in case you lose or forget the key. I think that would make it a little less effective, but most thieves still don't know how to use it and they probably won't be able to find it and turn it off before you hear it. And if they found it quickly, it wouldn't be that hard to break. Good product and I sleep a little better at night knowing someone is likely to wake me up playing with my bike.
