Review on πŸ”΅ Carlon B618R-UPC Ceiling Fan Box: New Work, Blue - 4-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Depth by Ashley Ray

Probably better on the ceiling.

First tip: They shouldn't cost more than a few dollars each. Instead, go to the nearest hardware store. I use them to hang wall lights and the idea is that they don't get nailed to a post or rafter like most electrical boxes are. This is good if you want to place them in spots where there isn't a stud within a few inches. They work, but are tedious to install. A key part of the instructions not included in the drywall cutting instruction template is how to use the flaps - this is important as the flaps attach your hardware to the wall. Sashing behind drywall consisted of using a piece of drywall I cut out of the wall as a guide for how much space there should be between the flap and the edge of the box. You can then get a screwdriver to the screws holding the wings in place and push the screws all the way through the rails holding the wings in place to keep them from falling off and then continue screwing until the wings are high enough to secure them. the width of your drywall. This made the installation much easier and more efficient and I think it will hold up. I will update later if this is not the case.
