Ideally 12A. Never connect heaters to extension cords!

Ideal heavy AWG 12A. The people who ruin them. You can't squeeze 1800 watts. You need a thicker cable. This is a perfectly acceptable stretch for any application other than heaters. Never connect a heater to an extension cord.
