My motherboard only had one fan connector where you could adjust the fan speed. The other track was always running at full blast, which I felt was too loud. I bought this splitter and use it to power three 120mm case fans and it works great. Make sure you have a fan connected to the sensor's pin header as this is the only fan your motherboard will see. It's also a good idea to make sure your fans aren't drawing too much current. Look at the fan motor sticker, add up the amps required for each fan, and compare them to the motherboard fan header specification. With the built-in "quiet fan" in my UEFI, this is the quietest PC I've ever built. Much better than having one of the fans running at 100% with the other connector.
