Review on Bormioli Rocco Frigoverre Jug, 68 oz (2 πŸ₯€ Liter), DD- By Size, with Hermetic Lid - Improved SEO by Chuck Hernandez

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Definitely NOT Pyrex glass quality.

I bought this jug thinking I would get rid of all my current plastic containers and start replacing them with glass. That seemed to be the answer! Here's my take on it: good: seals pretty well, keeps drinks fresher longer, pours well, and has a nice big, comfortable grip. The bad: The white gasket gets dirty and dirty quickly if you use it for tea like I did, and I haven't found a way to thoroughly clean the lid. The rotating part of the lid doesn't seem to detach (loosen) from the collar, allowing you to clean underneath. Worst of all: I took a freshly brewed pot of hot tea and poured it into a pitcher (the pitcher was room temperature) and the bottom half practically broke into three large pieces. Luckily it was in the sink so the damage was minimal. A room temperature jug should not self-destruct with hot liquid. Period. I have several glass measuring cups that I have used for decades and none of them have cracked from hot liquids. I will definitely not buy these again.

Pros
  • Made in Italy by Bormiolo Rocco, glass expert since 1825.
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
