I like ThinkCar products. They are generally well made and offer a lot of features for the price. This S99 scanner is a little different from most of the others. All of these tools offer standard OBD11 diagnostics for all brands, but for brand-specific system scans, the S99 only scans one manufacturer, which you choose from the 38 available. For example, if you come from a Toyota or Ford family, this works well. Why pay for features you don't need? Just understand that this works as a basic OBDII scan tool for other manufacturers. Now you can perform a full system scan, live data and limited reset functionality for the manufacturer of your choice. The SP99 connects easily to the car, communicates quickly and I find the menu system intuitive and easy to navigate. The 3.5 inch display is easy to read. The automatic VIN recognition works well. One year warranty, lifetime free updates. For the update, the SD card must be removed from the device and updated on the computer. I actually wanted to give this place 3 stars. based on extended functionality from a single manufacturer. However, Thinkcar clearly debunks this and pretends to do more. As I own several brands of cars and like to help friends, this would not be my first choice. Families of one brand might find this perfectly adequate.
