The fabric is not very heavy. They don't lift the fabric as much as regular scissors, which is pretty cool. They don't cut as well as my gingher scissors. These are not my main fabric scissors, I only use them for cutting fabric patterns. I find that I could get them to cut better by tightening or loosening (can't remember now) the hex screw. I didn't like that I had to use my custom hex screwdriver to make the adjustment as the size is somewhere between 5/32 and 1/8 inch. I would give the scissors 4 stars if the hex was more standard. the size.
