I'll start this off by stating that I won't be keeping this laptop for reasons beyond Razer's control, which I'll explain later. That's the beast from the car. with limitless customization options. For the layman looking for a workhorse to play, develop or build or switch ecosystems from IOS (since yours), this is probably the best contender. The aluminum body has a cool metallic sheen and isn't as black as the pictures show. Again, it's on par with the Mac Book Pro in terms of build quality, but with a more powerful engine (Mac Book Pro thermal management with throttling software; can't avoid the physics). The keyboard is good, the colored backlight makes your experience magical. They have a lower profile compared to the Macbook Pro 13, but it took me a few hours at most to get used to them. Speed: Everything is fast. I'm just an amateur here so no guidelines. But when Firefox has dozens of apps open and over 100 tabs open, everything runs smoothly. There is one caveat: the fans turn on when the system needs it, so there's no regular speed unless you set it yourself. Fan noise can become noticeable (not loud), but quickly turns into white noise. With so much power, you need good mechanical heat management (Apple cheats by limiting the power) to pay a small price. Overall, I'm really impressed with Razer and their commitment to quality. Even unpacking was a pleasure. I highly recommend this if you can't decide which laptop to buy (too many options) or are going without Apple's aluminum curtain; I've done my homework and within months and nearly pulled the trigger from MSI and Asus, Razer prides itself on its American commitment to quality and now rivals a Macbook Pro any day. Reasons not to use MSI or Asus - Webcam is missing or inconveniently placed. (I video chat regularly) - Fan noise and plastic material issues require more quality control. Lots of noise and significant frame flexibility - Some models still have HDD (Hard Drive) and some have soldered RAM (why?) - Unprofessional look. Unlike a razor blade, most of them look too charismatic to take to a coffee shop to work without calling themselves gamers. The Razer Blade is a sleeper (simple on the outside, beast on the inside) and the Quicksilver finish is for those with aesthetics in mind. Now for that reason I am returning my Razer. First, don't order expensive electronics from Revain. This is the second time I have received a used product that claims to be 'new' and repackaged. Attached are photos with small dents and scratches. But first fingerprints! When you spend your hard-earned money on something new, your expectations of something "NEW" are justified. The product Revain sent me wasn't even in the original packaging! (I checked, I bought another one from bestbuy) The first thing I did upon unboxing was to check for damage or use near the socket and dents near the screws (usually signs of wear or tampering). Photos are attached. There were fingerprints on the trackpad, spacebar, and exit button. They couldn't be mine because I hadn't even turned it on yet because there was a fingerprint on the power button too! Prize for their hard-earned money! Please save yourself the hassle and money and buy direct from Razer or go to a bestseller or dedicated electronics store where you can be sure the product came straight off the shelf. Another time this happened with $200 headphones, had the same packaging issues, missing aux cables, scratches and the product came in a crumpled box. If you're buying new electronics, Revain isn't the place to go because you'll never know where your product came from or if it was already there. I wouldn't mind if they sold it refurbished or in an open box, but I just paid full price to open a laptop that was covered in fingerprints (god knows what they touched). As I said, I bought from Bestbuy and the Razer Blade arrived spotless with the correct packaging. Not a single fingerprint, not a dent, not a scratch. I feel sorry for Razer as this is not under their control, but it is affecting the Brand user experience. A note for those migrating from Mac OS to Windows PC, the transition is painless and well worth it given the efforts Apple has made to make its products obsolete and non-customizable.
