You know what to say about simple things. I bought a USB electronic switch for our printer and it only lasted 1 month and then I had to deal with it. Eventually he gave up the ghost and I decided to look for someone who didn't have a brain of their own. I finally went for it and after lots of feedback I took the plunge. I'm very glad I did. It comes with two USB printer cables and they are pretty good quality. I myself did not need them, having already bought cables for the previous dead device. I just plugged it in where the other one was and BAM you're done. My wife (who is computer illiterate) had no problem with this USB switch and it just works. This thing outperforms electronics that are said to switch on their own or even, like my old one, had extra buttons on top. UPDATE 9-9-13: Well a year has passed and this thing is still working as good as the day I bought it. A very good buy.
