Works great for what

This is definitely a Chinese product (Revain has been so frustrating lately) as almost all the markings and branding on it are in Chinese. But he has a job and he does it very well. There are two buttons on the front, one for each PC, and you simply press the button for the PC you want to print from. Small box and you have to keep your finger on top when you press the button so it doesn't slip but works fine.

Pros
  • should also be understood from the old
Cons
  • Security

Oh yes, just what you need!

Don't love a product that WORKS exactly how you want it to? Well, this little miracle does just that - manually switches printer control to two different computers. We used better printer cables that we have - I've read other reviews - so now this little guy just sits there and does his job exceptionally well. It's mechanical, not automatic, it doesn't feel anything. He has a job and he's doing it. Buy it.

Pros
  • Beautiful

If you can't get the printer software to work

I have a great Brother printer but there have been so many iterations of the software and the software went against the instructions that I could not connect the printer to two-computer networks that I have. Others had this problem. I was reading reviews of the printer and someone came up with this idea (thanks, kind stranger). Sometimes you just need to go back to a mechanical solution lest you pull your hair out.

Pros
  • Worth your money
Cons
  • Not everything is as good as it says it is

Great for sharing a printer between 2 PCs

Great for my folks to share a printer between Dell desktops and HP laptops. Yes, you have to press one of the buttons to choose which PC can print, but this takes the guesswork out of wireless connectivity when Windows updates and the like tend to reset some of those settings to their defaults. this. The print function no longer works because it needs to be set up again. The box seems solid enough as far as the buttons are concerned. It's also nice that it comes with 2 printer style USB cables…

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • No car

MUST BE! for USB cable

This product is a lifesaver for my husband and I. We share a home office and a printer, and we literally went out of our way to unplug one system or the other and toss it across the room whenever the other needed a printer. This solves the problem 100%! Rather than potentially losing sight of a cable strewn about the room or banging our heads against a table trying to get it out of the back of an old desktop, we can just press a button to switch the printer to one system or another. We've had…

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Sad device

This works great and solved my problem with two users sharing a printer with no wireless connection. The device assigns a user to the right button and a user to the left button. You cannot share the printer with more than 2 people with this device. The user button on the device must be pressed for their print jobs to print. If you have sent multiple print jobs, they will print them all as soon as you press the button on the device. In other words, they don't have to press a button to send a job

Pros
  • Not just useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Good, but not very good

Better than any electronic switch.

You know what to say about simple things. I bought a USB electronic switch for our printer and it only lasted 1 month and then I had to deal with it. Eventually he gave up the ghost and I decided to look for someone who didn't have a brain of their own. I finally went for it and after lots of feedback I took the plunge. I'm very glad I did. It comes with two USB printer cables and they are pretty good quality. I myself did not need them, having already bought cables for the previous dead…

It worked fine (if a bit slow) for about 6 months.

I have a printer that is shared between two computers. I used to have an auto-switching device that recognized which device was sending input to the printer and switched accordingly. It worked fine (albeit a bit slow) for about 6 months, but lately it didn't switch automatically and eventually didn't switch at all. We were never sure if it was a hardware glitch or a software glitch. We then bought this handset as a replacement. It was 100% reliable and was a lot cheaper. Sometimes simpler and…

MUST BE! suitable for USB cable

This product is an absolute lifesaver for me and my husband. We share a home office and a printer, and we literally go out of our way to unplug one system or another and toss it across the room when the others need a printer. This solves the problem 100%! Instead of possibly losing sight of a cable scattered around the room, or banging our head against a table to remove it from the back of an old desktop, we can now simply press a button to toggle the printer to system or on further. We've had…

Pros
  • Each connection has a corresponding button. and it is compatible with USB 2.0/1.1/1.0.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

This works fine; the installation was easy.

I was using a shared printer (HP LaserJet Pro 400 M401dne) connected to my Linux machine using a Windows machine. But for unknown reasons, my university recently started blocking the printer sharing communication channel. So I decided on a hardware solution and bought this product (EEEEKit Bundle for Printer Switch). The price for this was very reasonable. I would even say it was very cheap. Two USB cables were even included, as advertised. The switch was connected to the printer and two…

Pros
  • Simply connect USB cables from computers and USB devices to the switch and you're done. An external power supply is not required.
Cons
  • No performance
