I had another holder before and didn't believe the reviews that it became unstable. Spring. it does. Also, the magnetic part doesn't stick that well to the hot surface of the car, so it's no good on that side either. While it sticks to the phone fairly well and is great for holding the phone securely, after about a month of use it can only hold the phone in certain positions, even when I've tried not to move it too much. Next time I'll take a cheaper but more stable holder with a ring.
