Review on Tortoise Sewing Ployester Purpose 11000Yards by Karla Richter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works great in my Brother sewing machine Brother

The thread came very neatly in a nice box and is protected by plastic. I placed a spool of my sulky embroidery floss (beige) next to a spool of tortoiseshell floss (yellow) for size comparison, as most people are familiar with this size of sulky floss. I really like the colors of the tortoise threads and really wanted a tan one as I was auditioned to do some mask extensions. I had a brown print and I knew that tan color was what I needed. I have used both straight stitch and zig zag stitch on extensions and have had no issues with the thread at all. I like the way it came out and blended well with my material in some parts. The turtle thread has not broken or caused tangles or clutter in the bobbin case. Well sewn, even in a zigzag. I turned the piece of scrap material I used inside out so the seams are more visible. One line is straight and the other is slightly zigzag, but there is batting in the two layers of fabric, making it look plump and uneven. The thread even shines! Of course there were more colors than the brown I used. Some light, some not so light. This is a very good choice of 12 colors for accent stitching or to mix with a fabric colour. Just a note: the tan color I used is still on my machine. I forgot to take it off and put it in the photo so there are only 11 in the last photo. I am pleased with the colors of the threads, how they look embroidered and how easy it was to find the starting thread. Finding the starting thread on the spool is my favorite annoyance and it will drive me crazy as I'm sure a lot of other people are doing it. Once the paper is removed from the center of the spool, the beginning of the line is bright as day as it runs diagonally down the spool and is threaded at the end with some line to prevent accidental unwinding. I just took a needle and slipped it under the diagonal thread to the end, pulled a little and the end of the thread popped out and I was ready to go. I would recommend Tortoiseshell Thread to others.
