He keeps my phone next to my monitor where I can see it and doesn't get in my way. The monitor arm is rectangular and larger than any bicycle handlebar, but offers plenty of space. The bracket is attached to the steering wheel or other object with a threaded strap onto which a nut is screwed. You simply hand tighten the nut (no tools required) until the strap is tight enough to hold your phone upright. Unfortunately, there is no rubber strip or anything else on the bracket that could increase friction. Even on a rectangular hand, it can slip a bit. It would be easy to use a piece of inner tubing, shelf liner, etc. The plastic that makes up the threaded strap is pretty tough, and mine had white tension lines right out of the box, which made me nervous. Honestly, I wouldn't use that on a bike. The phone is unlikely to fall out of its mounts under normal circumstances, but it looks like the head and mounting hardware could become loose or the strap could break. Also, the angle brackets are flexible, so you can pull them down or spread them out to get the phone out, which you can accidentally do. The plastic for most holders is relatively hard and flimsy, so I'd hesitate to leave it where it could be damaged by UV rays, and I'm not sure the internals are waterproof. There is a quick release buckle but it was difficult to connect the top to the mount and now I can't separate them. The bracket attaches to the phone at all four corners. It doesn't cover the buttons on the sides of my Huawei Mate SE, but the angle brackets can cover the buttons at the top near the corner on some phone models. The closed back of the mount means I can't access my phone's fingerprint reader, so I have to use a passcode/pin to unlock it. To open the clip, press the two side wings all the way down. until they snap. When you put your phone in the holder, it should press on the dot in the middle (you might have to wiggle it). Pressing on the point compresses the clip so the clasps grip the corners of the phone. To release the phone, press the wings on the sides again, which will open the struts. It can be difficult because the phone is in the way. You can't do that with one hand. The mount head can be rotated to hold the phone in landscape or portrait orientation. It feels like it has a hanger because it kind of breaks off when you press the bottom or top of the phone. So this will likely prevent your phone from rattling. It works great on my desktop. Despite the downsides, what's great is that I don't have to search for my work phone when it goes offline and grab it off my desk so it doesn't constantly take up space and fall over. But I just wouldn't use this mount to secure a $300-$1200 phone during a bike ride.
