Okay - this mount is for attaching a mirror but I actually use it for a completely different purpose - to attach a vintage hand operated horn to my penny farthing, it was never intended to be such a thing, and it probably is something more loaded than it was ever designed - the horn should weigh about 3-4 pounds, and it takes a bit of force to push the plunger onto the piece. .Definitely - so far this mount has worked flawlessly. I don't know if it was necessary, but I ran a rubber hose between it and the handlebars to provide traction. You will need your own allen wrench to tighten the nuts. So if you don't already have one, be prepared to get one somewhere. For people like me using this mount for something other than a mirror, the thread is metric M10 x 1.25. Overall, with less than $7 shipping, I'm very happy with this mount - a pretty good deal and it works well. A while. One final piece of advice I've learned over the years: when tightening the nuts on any of these little things, DO NOT over-tighten - you'll strip the aluminum threads off fairly easily.
