Shelves are very light weight, the 'wood' feels like cork wood. Several shelves of chips arrived. I didn't go back because I felt like I could just flip them and show a good side. They came unassembled. They gave options for metal rings (silver, gold and black). The rope was the same color and the kit included large nails to hang shelves on. The assembly was quite difficult. The holes in the shelves were smaller than the rope/string that came with it. It took several attempts to find a way to thread the rope through the shelves. I ended up taking a large sewing needle and tape and taped them together. It didn't always work, but with a little effort I was able to complete the build. After you thread the ropes through, you need to make sure each shelf is flush with the other by tying the ends to the correct length. The rope was a bit tight so if something heavy was on the shelf it would sag/hang more. They are not very strong and will lean to one side if the weight distribution is disturbed. You can also lean forward or backward with weight distribution. All in all, these are pretty nice shelves that will take a little effort to put together. They are really just for looks and nothing more.
