As an artist I use them to find colors so waffle swatch stamps are basically the only stamps I own. It also meant going out and buying an acrylic block and then figuring out if the block I found at my local craft store was too small and I refused was it really ok to cut the stamp to size , to wait or to buy another block. And then find an ink pad that doesn't bleed over my watercolors. And then you'll find a second ink pad that you can use with alcohol markers. Just something to think about.
