Gain something, lose something

This pencil sharpener was recommended to me by a lecturer in a class I'm taking and I have to say. this will not be the end of all pencil sharpeners. But that's okay, not everyone can do everything! (Always test a new sharpener on your crappy pencils first!) This sharpener will destroy cheaper pencils (like 10/pack of $10 Faber drawing pencils) but it will heal my Prismacolor. Pencils just right (picture attached). I haven't had much luck sharpening these down to a fine point, so make sure you get an old-school silver one if you need one in your pencil sharpener. There are videos on YouTube that teach you how to use it because I didn't have instructions in the box. The bottom line is that you tighten the metal tabs at the top next to the hole and pull the front panel out a little. Then you insert a pencil and use the handle (it applies pressure until it reaches the end, and in an ideal world you have a sharpened pencil). to every second. The pressure applied to the pencil is a little too much and may dent or even break the suction cups while they're there. If I had a second chance, I'd just buy one of those solid metal hand cranks. Of course, they're more expensive, but the effort it takes to sharpen a pencil with this thing is a bit extreme. I will use it until it breaks, which as it is going probably will soon!
