Review on πŸ’§ Alphacool VPP655 - Universal PWM Pump for Fans, Coolers, and Radiators (4-Pin, Black, Metallic, Ceramic, Plastic, 37 W) by David Ruwala

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Mediocre and mediocre.

D5 PWM pump with readable PWM control board. Does not work properly with the Aquaero controller. At less than 50% of max speed, the controller saw 2000 RPM as max speed. This made it difficult to fill the circuit with liquid. The Swiftech and EK PWM pumps worked great on the same controller. Works great on the motherboard header, but it doesn't help if you try to fill the loop and blow air. Two of these are used in series in a circuit. The intention was to drive them separately to even out the speeds a bit to reduce noise with harmonic suppression. As a workaround, I've found that if you place a powered fan hub between the controller and the pumps, they work correctly. This requires adding two separate PWM hubs. Had I known this I would have just paid extra and bought another brand new EK D5 which works great and hooks up directly to the controller which I most likely would do anyway and return both of these pumps.

Pros
  • Metallic.
Cons
  • No Instructions
