Pleasantly surprised. For the price I paid I thought it would be ok. ok i was wrong, it was actually pretty good. I bought one to replace a Yamaha NS-IW280C because I burned out one of my Yamahas in another room and it was needed in my kitchen in that room. I didn't want to pay a lot for a speaker I had in my kitchen and rarely used, so I bought one of these. To be honest I think it could sound better than the Yamaha with more bass. I wasn't expecting it to have any bass at all, so I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn't shake the bass of your room, but it complements the mids and highs very well. I'm not saying they are amazing and rival expensive hi-fi speakers. But if you're looking to build an HT with surround sound on a budget, I promise you won't be disappointed. Just add a subwoofer and you're good to go.
