This is a plain, clear vinyl tablecloth. We have a beautiful natural wood table and it's nice to see the texture of the wood without fear of water stains. It looks a bit like plastic furniture covers from the 50's. but . My desk is secure, so I don't mind. It's not very thick, but it's very crisp - and thick enough if you're a little careful with sharp objects. If you want to remove a few wrinkles you can run the dryer on low for about 3 minutes. Place it warm (not hot) on the table. Small wrinkles can remain, but over time they smooth out. The edges of the tablecloth are sewn with white threads. To be honest I've ordered 2 more for backups - once torn they're kind of useless as table protectors. but then my sister takes them and uses them to protect her little charges' paintwork. Use and reuse! I always update my reviews when new information seems useful.
