I bought this toaster to replace an old one that never died but had a broken handle. I have very little counter space so I needed something small that would fit four slices of toast. The fold down top door definitely saved a lot of space compared to my old one which had a fold down front door to the countertop. This saved me a lot of countertop space. The heating elements on this thing heat up quickly and evenly. The frying function frys really quickly so you really can't get away from it while frying, and it browns everything evenly. I primarily use this to melt and brown cheese on English muffin pizza. I've also used it to make crispy potatoes, which worked great too. The baking function works well too and I think the small footprint helps cook meals faster than in the oven. I don't know if the temperature is accurate or not, but it's probably not for thin pastries. The toaster function, which is the most used in my family, is excellent. Toast is good even for a toaster. It won't be perfectly flat like a dedicated toaster, but this machine is way better than my old one in terms of flatness. The dedicated toaster doesn't offer any additional features either, so it's a bit of a compromise for me. He's also faster than my age. Some people complain in their reviews about how hot the outer shell of this device gets. It's getting hot. You should keep plastic bags and the like away from it when using it, but all toasters get pretty hot, so I'm not sure this unit is any worse than any other. It's easy to know and I've never had a problem. Thanks to the removable crumb tray on the bottom, it is easy to clean. The hinged top door offers plenty of space for interior cleaning. You'll never keep this thing brand new without some serious grease, but just like any other toaster. The baking tray is made of thin metal and is easily deformed during baking. The baking sheet is also difficult to keep from stains. I put it under the storage device. This thing also has a feature where you can press a few buttons on the timer handle and turn it back to turn the timer off, meaning it won't stop cooking until you manually turn it off. . Not a feature for me, but worth mentioning. Overall this is a great toaster and I am very happy with its functionality and performance. UPDATE JULY 2021: Top heat/broiling element recently stopped working. There doesn't seem to be an easy fix for what's broken. I no longer recommend this product
