The device could not be made to work on a PC with WIN 10 Pro Ver 1803, even after a long time contacting StarTech technical support. Although Device Manager indicated that the drivers were loaded and working correctly, Movavi Video Editor (included with the device) was unable to detect the device. The same with Adobe Premiere. Loaded on a laptop under Win 8.1 without problems. Movavi Video Editor recorded the video in an .MKV file which was not recognized by Windows Media Viewer or Adobe Premiere. To convert the file to another format I had to use the export feature, which I found a little cumbersome and time consuming. Another annoying issue was that the audio was muted in record/capture mode even though the audio was being recorded. The sound worked in preview mode, but as soon as record mode was turned on, the sound disappeared. The speaker icon in the recording window was gray and did not activate any sound. The quality of the captured image was marginal in my opinion. What confused me was that the image quality in the capture window was pretty good. This leads me to suspect that the problem might be in the software. I'm trying other apps.
