On the climbing wall I visit, the starting holds are almost always in bad shape. Either a lot of chalk was used or the starting grip is where you put your foot down later in the route and the rubber of the climbing shoes messed up the texture of the grip. I have some good brushes in the form of toothbrushes, but if I used them to clean large handles they would wear out too quickly. This bad boy works great on large holds and easily attaches to a belt loop for use further up the wall. Best of all: the price is unbeatable! I can go into town and kick up a huge cloud of disapproval dust, and worst-case scenario, I'll only have a few bucks.
