Review on 🚴 Ergon GP1 Ergonomic Lock-on Bicycle Handlebar Grips: Ideal for Hybrid, E-Bikes, and Mountain Bikes - Regular Size, Gripshift or Rohloff/Nexus Compatible - Black/Gray by Henry Johnston

Good grip for solving problems, but be very careful when choosing a model and size.

Unfortunately I received the wrong model from Revain and had to return it. But I found the GP1 locally for less than Revain and have been using it for a few weeks now. Before these holds, I had numbness in my ring and pinky fingers on both hands, much worse on my left (because I still have nerve damage from my 2007 injury). The grips themselves were easy enough to fit, but I haven't fitted the end caps yet as they are too snug on the handlebars (standard size) and don't even go all the way. I'm dismissing them for now while deciding on a bike mirror. However, they can be easier to work with. Setting the right angle takes trial and error, and even now I'm not sure I got it right. Now my thumbs are numb, not my other fingers. However, my wrists are now at a more correct angle and riding with these grips is more comfortable overall. I ordered a size up due to the long fingers - I'm one of those people who can't even find extra large gloves that never fit me properly. ) for another bike in the family. Installation Tip: There are two size options, small and large. Also, make sure you choose the right model. The GP1 has three different switching options. The regular model is suitable for trigger switches. GripShift is suitable for shifters. There is a third model (mis-sent by Revain) to set up the Rohloff®/Nexus® switch. However, for record switches, you may or may not use these handles without changing the switches. One of the family bikes is the Giant Sedona, which uses a wide-grip SRAM derailleur. The GripShift model is twice as long as existing fixed grips so they will never fit. There are other trigger switches that use the newer narrow configuration (which you can buy for less than $20), or you can also go down to $25 trigger switches and use the regular GP1 model. Overall I'm glad I bought them, but I still have some numbness. It remains to be seen whether further adjustments will help. When ordering from Revain, be aware that they don't have the right product options yet, let alone third-party sellers who, out of ignorance, add the same products themselves and don't specify the model or size. Perhaps it is better to buy them in person where you can physically see the markings on the packaging.
