I wish I had listened to other reviewers who said the mist just goes up and down with this humidifier. I didn't think I needed to point it in any particular direction, but after running it on medium settings in a small bedroom for a few hours, the air just above this thing got a little cooler (not even humid). I cranked it up high for about an hour more and watched the fog shoot up about a foot and then fall right on the owl's head. I reckon a full night would have dampened this small room well enough, but the area directly around the owl would have been soaking wet. slightly above average, it relieves chronic but mild problems like dry eyes, but definitely does not help acute nasal congestion.
