For the past few months I've been looking at some of the more sophisticated (and expensive) rangefinders until I played with someone who uses a golf watch. I don't remember the model, but I was impressed with its accuracy and ease of use. I stumbled upon this model, saw generally positive reviews and decided to give it a try when it dropped in price during the Revain Lightning round. I used it on a local course and was impressed with its ease of setup, beautiful looks, ease of use and accuracy. It found all the nearby golf courses I usually visit and only took a few minutes to connect to ground satellites. On the other hand, I found it a bit fiddly to connect the cable of the charging adapter to the watch - you need good lighting and steady hands. Secondly, you cannot switch to the time display during the game without exiting the round. Most people would replace their regular watch with this device, so it seems like an odd omission (and actually shouldn't be difficult to implement). Claimed battery life is just over 2 rounds, which seems short but is good enough for most golfers. In general, it fully meets my requirements. A quick glance at the watch and I realized that there was no need to pull out a more expensive rangefinder and optically align the flag. As the average handicap golfer, I don't need the extra features that high-end rangefinders offer. Only time will tell on durability, but so far so good.
