Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very good, works great, good hardware, many features. I am very satisfied,

Updated September 2020: Just a quick update after over 3 years. I am still using this gate and gate opener as installed and it still works great. The only problem I've ever had was the batteries dying after more than 2 years. Replaced and still holding up. Do a good job with the wiring and it looks like you'll have an opener that will give you years of trouble-free service. I've added another gate and am about to get another one of these openers so I'm looking again. And the remote controls two gates so all my current remotes can be made to work. I said it 3 years ago and I'll say it again, I don't see how it could be better. And I never changed the battery in the keyboard. I think I should do this before the battery dies. (End of update) I've been researching gate openers for months. I chose Ghost Controls because it offers the best value for money with the best reviews. I have a heavy duty dual gate, 10 watt solar panel, dual battery holder, keypad and entryway sensor, all controlled by a ghost. The grand total was about $1,200. It beat the other's price once I added the other items I needed. I installed it myself and had no problems. The instructions are good, the iron is excellent, I had everything in the kit. I used PVC/Electrical Conduit to route the cables out of the floor and around other components. The keyboard is wireless, which is nice. I mean it's a good quality goal. The control unit is very beautiful, reliable and dry. The gate operators seem to be top notch. The options on the controller board are good. (how long the gate stays open, setting the end points of the gate movement). You can adjust the endpoints so that the gates are pressed against each other well enough and don't move due to wind or other minor disturbances. The gates are well placed (a gate always closes fully first, no matter what endpoints you set). It has been working for me for over 3 months now and there is not a single problem. The two remotes work great and work at quite a distance (400-500 feet or so). There are several different gate modes available, which is nice. The car opens at the exit (with a lane sensor) only steers! I can't say enough about how happy I am with this gate opener, I don't see how it could be any better than it is.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
