More ink than watercolor - water insoluble

I really like these markers, but I doubt they are "water soluble, water soluble". They look more like ink to me than anything I normally associate with "watercolor". They do not mix with each other or with water. On VERY large or coated paper, they work great with a little water. But on mixed media paper, lightweight marking paper, and even cellulose watercolor paper, the color once applied is gone forever. One of the GOOD aspects of this is that these marks are floating through plaster and I love that "spooky" effect when I paint layered paintings. I love that they don't move for this - you can draw some precise work and paint a little, cover everything with plaster and the colors glow softly without turning into a washed out mush. And unlike some of the reviewers, I also liked the feel of these pens. I liked how they felt in my hand, I liked the colored cylinders and the brush tips were very hard and I liked how they felt on paper. I hate soft pens - I have a heavy hand so it was a lot of fun using these markers. I really wish I had these markers in these colors with more water soluble inks for watercolor style work on watercolor paper.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Doubtful
