Review on 🔌 Sabrent USB 3.0 to SSD SATA Hard Drive Adapter (EC-SSHD) by Antonio Rojas

This adapter cable is great! The only issue I've found (and if you look up reviews you'll see that this isn't an isolated issue) is that this adapter doesn't work with 4TB SSDs. I have a 4TB Samsing 960EVO SSD and it worked fine when installed on my computer. When I took it out and tried to mount it with this adapter, the computer sees the drive as unformatted with MBR partitioning scheme (actually the drive uses GUID partition table scheme) with a capacity of 47.93TB. , I backed up my data, formatted the drive with a cable just to see what it does. The hard drive was formatted normally, now it shows 4TB. Relax. So I put the drive back into my computer and now the computer sees it as an unformatted 4TB and won't read anything from it without formatting. So I formatted the disk in the computer and took it out again. I reconnected it to that cable and sure enough it showed a 4TB drive of which 47.93TB was free and unformatted. I took the drive and put it in a cheap SATA USB enclosure and indeed the drive installed and was fine. So I think it might be a chipset issue. If you only use this cable with small drives, great! If you have large drives, you should try something else.
