Review on Estwing E3 16C Hammer Metal Handle by Lynn Cole

Grandpa's hammer is the best claw hammer

This is a great hammer that will last for decades with proper care and maintenance. I grew up in a family of builders and builders and my grandfather used this hammer for 20+ years. I wish I still had the original. The two hammer companies that have always been the most used and reliable have been Vaughan and Estwing because they do their job well and last a long time. Lately I've been organizing my tools and upgrading some of them so I realized I don't have a good medium sized hammer, I used a 10oz workpro. Hammer for odd jobs around the house and Vaughan 21 oz. Hammer for heavy work. I wanted something in between, and I knew I wanted an Estwing, so I settled on a 16-ounce curved claw with a smooth finish, a smooth finish so it doesn't mess up what I'm working on, and a claw, around to give an extra look energy. 16 ounces. perfect for control and precision, and the metal shaft means you won't have to switch grips or have a dangling/wobbly hammer head. The grip is comfortable, the plastic/rubber is of course very strong, if you abuse it and use the grip to pry or scrape rough objects it will deteriorate and break. I've seen people completely break their tools by using them in an idiotic way. . The only disappointment was that the Estwing logo is NOT yellow, it's just engraved on the grip with no additional color and I grew up with the logo otherwise, it was always yellow letters on the blue grip, I think you still can found on some models but i won't be chasing it so i just enjoy it the way it is. Made in the USA, weighing 16 ounces, you can wear it all day to get the job done, light or heavy, and it won't let you down for a lifetime. I've added a photo with my old Stanley 6oz. Ball hammer next to estwing 16 oz.
