I used this stone to sharpen four knives. I only tried to use the corner guide once and it scratched this knife. I want the stone to get bigger. It measures about 7" x 2" x 1" (L x W x H). The only things I've ever sharpened have been axes, hatchets and fish hooks, so I took my time with an old, useless knife before I turned to good It took time and patience but I finally have an edge that was better than I started It will take a lot more practice for me to get decent results My advice is the cheapest of these sharpening stone sets and buy it. I suspect the large majority is made in one place and the rest is marketing. Oh, and let the stone dry completely before putting it away, otherwise this wood holder will become a moldy wood holder .
