Bought 2 of these to fly cats from Hawaii to the mainland. They arrived and stunk right after opening. Chemical smell. Imagine putting your cats in there! So I aired it for a week, sort of like a mattress. It did not work. I had to wash, wash and dry it. It hurts, but there was less and less time until the flight. In the end, the thing didn't smell. And it worked, as advertised, through Hawaiian Airlines. Fits well under the seat. There are no questions at the airport. Just know that you've grumbled crying babies on planes for all these years, now you're going to be that guy. Only with a cat. At some point, no matter what the occasion, someone will scream non-stop. I suggest flying with red eyes so you can stick your heads out a bit in the dark without getting into trouble.
