They hold a lot of stuff without me having to buy plastic bags at the grocery store. However, the pockets are so big that they actually hold too much, making them difficult to carry. I tried sneaking one around the store when I just needed "a few things" (yes, that's right) and filled it up; bad decision. Next time I put it in the basket and filled it. and could barely lift it off the cart to put it in my car. And still it is necessary to pick it up and bring it to the house. I'd rather have some small bags than big ones. Tip: cut a piece of thick cardboard and place it on the bottom of the bag to make the bottom more durable (I did that when I got it). Again, they work well but are bulky and difficult to fill. Now I'm looking for smaller bags.
