It's a kind of big screen monitor that uses the whole bit with a small frame. It's not flat with a slightly protruding back (to accommodate the speakers I think) and is a bit heavy but worth it. The stand allows you to move the monitor up and down, as well as rotate it from side to side. My wife likes the USB 3.0 port so she can use the extra USB ports on the monitor. The resolution is sharp and clear. We love that you can see more of what you're working on. There are no real instructions on how to set it up. So if you're not up to date with all the technological changes, you might need to get online like we did. Basically I am very satisfied with the monitor.
