For what it is, it's both fantastic and in a league of its own for almost a decade. This is a highly reliable, rugged, entry-level joystick. For a decade it was the only game in town if you wanted to buy a joystick under $150 because the top end of the market ignored that price point and the companies involved consistently did a poor job (Saitek and CH in particular). , never buy one of their wands, they are notorious for their serious problems). Since I started playing PC games almost 2 decades ago I have had a total of two of these, which is unparalleled in peripherals in terms of both software support and hardware reliability/timeliness. My current one is almost 7 years old, my old one ended up breaking when it was thrown against a wall (which the manufacturer probably didn't anticipate). These things are mostly unbreakable and for the price I would definitely recommend them as a gift or as part of an induction for someone thinking about getting into video game flying. Buy it for $35 (30 on sale), play any Battlefield game and War Thunder with it for about a year, and after a year decide if you've had enough or want something else. When you start looking for an upgrade, the next step should definitely be to look at the Thrustmaster 1600/HOTAS stick.
