I travel with Garmin GPS along with window mount and charger. After plugging it into my car's cigarette lighter and driving across the Nevada desert to Utah, Garmin gave me an error message saying I'm using a non-charcoal USB cable and can't charge. I found this very dangerous and shameful for Garmin for forcing this issue. I was able to continue using GPS on my phone and made it as far as Utah, but immediately ordered this non-Garmin (it was told it was Garmin compatible) which was half the price of buying from Garmin - and it worked. This Garmin risked someone's life
