I have used other versions of this cartridge from the same supplier with good results so I was optimistic about these new cartridges. In fact, they worked just like the others - very well. As others have pointed out, they don't have a chip (or almost all non-HP cartridges do). They changed the color of the chip holder in this cartridge but it was fully compatible with previous versions of their cartridges so it took me about 4 minutes to swap it out! Replacing an HP cartridge for the first time takes a few minutes, but it comes with a great set of tools that make the process fairly painless. Check out the picture of the printer result after replacing the blue cartridge - it looks great. The only thing you lose when changing cartridges is checking the ink levels - we are happy to make such a compromise to save 80-90% of the costs.
