Review on Captivating Texsens Flame Effect Light Bulbs: Illuminate with Mesmerizing Flames by Shawn Reiff

One of the most convincing flame animations. There are cheaper bulbs out there, but I've compared many of them and most look "pixelated" with each LED dot visible. The Texsens lamp is one of the few that avoids this trap and is quite believable at the same time. The downside is that the animation is very lively, with a heavy flicker effect, so while it's fun to watch, it's not relaxing or useful in low light. Therefore, this bulb is best suited for street lighting, which is why I bought it. I have them in stagecoach lights in the garage and on the porch and they look great. The strong flickering effect is not as noticeable or disturbing from the outside and the bulbs add a great aesthetic to the home at night. They don't give off much real light though, again a great display but not very useful for my application. I was surprised at how dim they are - I would say they are 3-5w incandescent bulbs. So if it wasn't for the hyperactive flame animation and powerful strobe effect, this lamp would be great for indoor decorative lighting. As it stands, outdoor use is recommended. Pros: + Realistic flames + No LED dots (good spread) + Fairly accurate color (a bit too orange) Cons: - Low light output - Animation is lively, not relaxing - Animation only works properly - Page up - Shipping cost and time ( from 3 weeks) Conclusion: I like the light bulb. It's not perfect, but I don't think any of these lamps are - you'll have to find the one that works best for your use. With the Texsens price you get one of the most beautiful flame lamps, but not necessarily the best for your application. If you need a reverse install, look elsewhere. I actually modified the inverted porch light to face up so I can use a Texsens bulb.
