Cool effect - this one is more like a flame.

Papa gave me this old lantern that belonged to his father, of unknown origin. The marking reads "The Adams & WestLake Company - Chicago - "THE ADAMS"" and "SP Co" is raised on the glass. (Dunno, maybe made for the South Pacific?). He has already retrofitted it with a light bulb socket, which I changed, among other things, because of old fabric insulation on the cable. Works great on day one. Updates come as needed.

I won't write reviews until I've been in business for about 3 months. And I'll come back and update this one if/when they fail, but I just got them in the mail about an hour ago, they're already installed on both sides of my garage door and they look really cool. I even saw comments about the need for frosted glass ahead of them in the product description. Mine are fine. Of course, my audience is made up of cars driving past the house, so they won't see as much detail. Anyway 5 out of 5 so far.

Better than most, but not perfect

One of the most convincing flame animations. There are cheaper bulbs out there, but I've compared many of them and most look "pixelated" with each LED dot visible. The Texsens lamp is one of the few that avoids this trap and is quite believable at the same time. The downside is that the animation is very lively, with a heavy flicker effect, so while it's fun to watch, it's not relaxing or useful in low light.
