I had an older holder of the same type but it often worked outside of the vent. No matter how hard I pull. This one has a little "lip" on the end so it doesn't run or slide off the vent, which is nice. I've had it for a week or so, driven a few hundred miles and it's still in the same position. The only downside is that on a phone with a headphone/auxiliary jack, the lower support legs can get in the way and block the headphone jack. I have an S10 and ended up sharpening/sharpening the left leg rest a bit (since my work machine doesn't have bluetooth I have to use an extra cable).
