Review on πŸŽ„ Magical Holiday String Lights: Battery-Operated Timer LED, White, 200 Bulbs by Faliere Jorge

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Extremely boring, dubious quality

For the price I paid for it I have nothing to complain about. But if you're paying retail prices for them, I'd advise you to look elsewhere. I bought several sets of 300 in bright white, warm white and multicolor. This rating can apply to almost any color, they are almost identical. First the advantage: β€’ USB connection! Works as advertised, just unscrew and disconnect the battery and it works in every USB outlet I've tried. I've tried high power ports, low power ports and plugged in several of these ports: the light is always bright regardless of the USB source. β€’ Build quality (note that these are also disadvantages): I was visually very impressed with the construction. They look like a very durable and expensive set that I bought locally. Battery compartment made of robust plastic with a hinged lid and silicone seal. The wires are a decent gauge and the bulbs appear to be of good quality and well constructed. The USB port has a nice weatherproof screw connection. β€’ Price: 2 to 3 Washington DC, these are the cheapest rechargeable surgical lights I've ever bought. Now for the cons: β€’ First, it's the brightness. These are incredibly weak lamps. The brightness is the same for the ten threads I tried, regardless of battery type or USB power source. I was planning on replacing the string of 100 120v bulbs I use for general lighting, but even though I have 300 of these baddies on the string, they put out less light than a cellphone screen. I have attached a photo for reference. here; Two of the sets pictured are festive warm and cool lighting (dim sets). From left to right: 120 volt cheap LED filament for 100 bulbs; ball 300 festive warm white with usb power; Micro LED filament for 132 lights from another manufacturer, powered by 6 AA batteries; finally festive, cool white light bulbs 300 again. β€’ They are so ridiculously long! For something this dark, a filament with half the bulbs and twice the brightness would be better suited for a net wattage change of zero. And yes I've also bought Festive's 200 and 100 light kits, they are just like these (but run on AA batteries) β€’ C batteries I don't plan on using battery boxes for this but I think this thread fits 6 AA better - Batteries. More frequent, cheaper, easier to recharge. β€’ Build Quality: While they appear to be well made, I found some flaws in some of my threads. Common problems were: a broken battery latch, loose or broken internal battery tabs, and faulty wiring (tug the thread lightly and the sections will snap). It was also common to find strands of what appeared to be hot melt tape in the battery compartments. I can't comment on longevity, but test your strands before the return period expires. β€’ Annoying mode switch button: This button is terrible. It's very quiet and has no click, and it takes a long press, pause, then another long press to change it (repeat until you're in the mode you want, or toggle the setting off). In fact, getting her to switch was very inconsistent, and it happened with every strand I tried. FYI, the 200 and 100 lamp models use a nice clicking and sealed push button switch that is relatively comfortable to work with. exactly, considering how dark the whole set is. I can't use them for the purpose I intended them, but for the price I'm lucky enough to have a few strands to highlight a car on vacation, a tent when camping, or a bike at a dusty festival.
