This was my first pump replacement. In the end I chose Gates because of the low price. I installed it on a 2002 Chevy Express 2500 4.3L Vortec engine. I'll update after a few months of use but now it's on the second day. I replaced the water pump, clutch fan, belt tensioner and idler pulley. no hard work if you take your time. Update: It's been over a year now and I haven't had any issues with it. I had to replace the lower intake manifold gasket this winter, but that has nothing to do with the water pump, just a crappy factory gasket on these engines.
