UPDATE 02/16/2021: I'm finally giving up using this KVM switch. Despite following the manufacturer's recommendations, I still experience momentary mouse/keyboard disconnects resulting in loss of mouse control, key skipping, "sticky" keys, etc. Working with them is just too annoying. I honestly tried. I appreciate the tech support, but the device is still unusable. UPDATE 01/12/2021: I would like to thank CKLau for the great customer support. When for some reason the cable connecting the KVM to one of my computers stopped working, I contacted them and they priority mailed some (!) new cables. The issue was resolved within 2 business days. UPDATE 10/18/2020: After contacting CKLau Technical Support, my keyboard and mouse issues were resolved, but at the cost of losing keyboard shortcuts. CKLau recommends that you connect your mouse and keyboard to the regular USB hub ports on the front panel, rather than dedicated ones. It worked. However, since these are normal USB ports, keyboard shortcuts no longer work there, so I can only switch between computers by pressing a button on the front panel or via the remote switch button plugged into the device. is working. However, I cannot use the declared functionality, which I consider important for me. Therefore, I cannot give this device a higher rating and still not recommend it for purchase. UPDATE 10/05/2020: I installed the replacement device and some issues like the screen dimming went away. However, I still see computers intermittently losing their keyboard and mouse connection. If the mouse disconnects and reconnects, it doesn't matter unless you're playing games. Things are worse with the keyboard, however, as the computer skips the keypress event and you automatically repeat a character hundreds of times until the keyboard reconnects, and after that you press the key again. This is very annoying and pollutes the text I'm working with, forcing me to break and clean up this repeated character. It happens multiple times every day. While it's better to have this KVM than not to have it, it's far from satisfactory. I give 3 stars based on my experience. First feedback: With the change to the home office I have to work on two computers, one at work and the other as my private home computer. Switching the mouse, keyboard and monitor between them was a hassle, so I ordered this KVM and just installed it. First, it worked very well and I was happy with it. It is compact, with a convenient location of ports and the necessary customization. You can switch between computers using a button on the KVM itself, a remote control button, a mouse shortcut, or a key combination. You can choose which key to use as the hotkey for keyboard switching. You can turn the beep on and off - I'm so glad I can turn the beep off. However, on the second day of use, I started having problems with KVM. Firstly, every now and then the screen goes black for a second (sometimes longer) and it's very annoying. The second problem is that it regularly loses the mouse - again for about a second. Not much, but enough to skip the action I was trying to perform with the mouse and move it to the center of the screen from its original position. I will contact the seller. If the problems are caused by a bad device, I'll reconsider my assessment. But I can't give more than 2 stars.
